Frequently Asked Questions

What is a fiduciary?

A fiduciary has the ethical obligation to put your interests ahead of their own.

Do I have to pay for the first meeting?

Absolutely not. The first meeting is a “get to know you” consultation. In fact, it may take more than one meeting to accomplish this. Although, I am confident that we will provide value from the start, it is very important that both parties feel comfortable before proceeding with an advisory agreement.

Do you work with people outside of Missouri?

Yes. Whether it’s at my office, your home, the local coffee shop, or virtually– we bring the planning and investment advice to you. We will work with anyone who needs help regardless of how much money they have.

What does fee-only investment advisor mean?

It means that my only compensation comes from my clients, not from products or services that I would recommend. I do not sell any financial products, nor do I receive any commissions from mutual funds, custodians, attorneys or CPA’s. Being a fee-only investment advisor eliminates nearly every conflict of interest that exists in the financial industry, aligns your goals and financial well-being with my firm, and allows me to be the true fiduciary that you need.

Who is your ideal client?

Our clients are long on complexity and short on time. The want to make informed decisions. They value someone who can help “put it all together” so that their investment strategy is well-aligned with their tax, estate and insurance plans as well as their overall goals in life.

How long have you been in business?

We have been providing investment advisory services for over 20 years.

What is Wealth Management?

Wealth Management or Life Planning as we like to call it, incorporates financial planning, risk management, investment management, estate planning, tax planning and other financial services into one holistic process to address an individual or business fiancial needs. Simply put, wealth management brings your entire financial life into focus so that you can make informed decisions to live life to the fullest.

How do you get paid?

I am a fee-only investment advisor, which means my only compensation comes from the services I provide to you. I do not get paid any commissions, kick backs, “trails,” or any other fees other than from the fees I charge you. I am held to the fiduciary standard, which means I have to act in your best interest regardless of the compensation I receive. I believe this is the fairest form of compensation and aligns my interests with yours.

What does financial planning include?

After our initial meeting, I will provide you with a financial plan based on your current financial situation and future goals. Although, we custom tailor each financial plan based on your needs and goals, there are common areas that make up the comprehensive financial planning process which includes budgeting, investments, debt management, insurance, estate planning, tax planning, college savig, employee benefits and retirement planning. Financial planning not only provides a custom roadmap, but more importantly accountability and guidance along the way.

If something comes up, can I meet with you?

Yes. Whenever you have a concern, want to discuss something, need a second opinion on a decision, or just want to say hello, feel free to call, email or schedule a time to meet.

Do I need to have a lot of money or assets?

Not at all. Our role is to help you live the best life you can with the resources you. The person that has $5,000 may need more help than someone that has $1,000,000 to invest. The most important thing is that you receive help resolving your financial issues.

Gary Cassell

Founder & President

Welcome! I’m originally from Nebraska where I graduated from Hastings College with a degree in Physics and then moved to St. Louis in 1985 to attend Washington University. Shortly after that, I navigated my way to becoming a financial advisor. Initially I worked for large wealth management firms, but found that they spent more time talking about how to make the firm more money than how to make the clients more money.

At that point, I decided to make a change and started my own firm. In 1999, I launched Premier Wealth Advisory Services to help our clients invest smarter, reduce taxes, and retire on their terms.

When I’m not at the office, you will find me spending time with my beautiful wife and two great children, family, friends, or watching every Husker football game with my dad. I love hiking in Colorado, playing tennis, walking and brewing beer with my son.
